On Friday, September 27th, the FDR staff was visited by Starbuck’s for some morning coffee! Ms. Wallace, our Assistant Principal of Social Studies, arranged the event to thank the staff and create a community bridge with our local Starbucks. The New Dealer was lucky to get some feedback from Ms. Wallace about the event!
Why was Starbuck here on Friday in the teacher’s cafeteria?
Starbucks visited FDR to show their appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the teachers and staff. They donated coffee to the entire school community as a gesture of gratitude for the positive impact we all have on students’ lives. This act of kindness highlights Starbucks’ commitment to supporting local communities and recognizing the valuable contributions of educators.
How were you able to get Starbuck to come to FDR?
I visited the Starbuck on 18th Ave and asked them if they would be interested in partnering with FDR and fostering a relationship with us, as many members of the school community frequent the store. Helen, the Assistant Manager, enthusiastically offered to come in and provide coffee for everyone here.
How do you feel the event went?
Overall, the event went well. There were a few areas which I would have liked to have gone a bit smoother, but my hope is that all who stopped in walked out feeling as though they are appreciated. This was just a small act of gratitude that hopefully brightened someone’s day!
Any thoughts on future events for teachers?
Anytime there is a chance to celebrate and appreciate the work of the members of our school community, I happily take part. There will be visits throughout the year from Starbucks, and others celebrating our work at FDR.
I special thanks to Ms. Wallace and Starbucks for bringing some morning coffee and cheer to the FDR family!
