Girls Table Tennis
With about 405 public schools in New York, only 14 of those schools have a table tennis team. Since 2013 there has been an official table tennis league, and the FDR girls are proud to be apart of that.
Last season the girls made it far in this upcoming sport. This year they aim to get further in the playoffs, hoping to make it to the City Championship game. Their first official game was November 24th against James Madison. They won with a score of 5-0. Leading these girls is Yang Zhang, who has managed to keep superb grades, becoming salutatorian for the class of 2015. She also has great leadership skills! In addition, their great coach, Mr. Stanco, who has been coaching the girls for the past 2 years. All Thirteen girls, and Mr. Stanco, deserve a” Hooray” as they make their way through a victorious season. Check the PSAL website for their next home game!!
