Hui Ying Kong Liang is this Spring’s Player to Watch! Hui Ying is a proud member of the Girls Badminton team.

Hui Ying enjoys attending FDR, because of the friendly environment and amazing teachers. She is very grateful to have teachers who have helped her accomplish so much over her time at FDR. Hui Ying also loves the diversity at FDR, and the fact that everyone comes together to make this such a special place.

Hui Ying’s greatest strength is her ability to learn quickly. In addition, she is passionate and dedicated about becoming the best badminton player she can be. Her weaknesses are getting nervous and dwelling on mistakes. She really wants to work on her self-confidence this year and master certain skills and techniques.

Hui Ying is a proud member member of the National Honors Society. She joined two years ago, because of the volunteering opportunities. She is very interested in helping her community and school. Hui Ying’s advice for younger students is to only do something if you are passionate about it. Playing sports is not only about competition, it is about having fun. Hui Ying also believes that younger student athletes need to prioritize their academics and balance their time carefully, in order to overcome obstacles.

Hui Ying is very grateful to Coach Hellman for noticing her hard work and dedication to the team. She feels she has improved every year, and she wants to be a strong role model for young players.
