The FDR Girls Badminton team is off to another great start this year! FDR and Murrow are looking like the top teams in the Brooklyn 1 Division. Coach Hellman’s dynasty looks to be in playoff form already. According to Coach Hellman, 0r Wayne Gretzky, “You miss 100% of the shots, you don’t take.” He wants his players to keep that mind set on the court. And they do just that, as the team is already 4-0 in the division.

A player to watch out for this year is Alisya Shchukina. This is Alisya’s 3rd year as a first Singles player. She took 2nd in the All NYC Tournament for Singles players last season. She is fighting to be top badminton player in the city this year!

The team’s final regular season game is April 23rd, so be sure to see this team play before they make their run for a City Championship! This year’s starting lineup is made up of: 1st Singles- Alisya Shchukina, 2nd Singles- Yelyzaveta Kovalenko, 3rd Singles- Tiffany Cao, 1st Doubles- Emily Wu and Ivy Zhu, and 2nd Doubles- Bella Mei-Wah Woo and Eleen Weng.
