This year’s American Music Awards was quite the show: from Miley Cyrus to Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift to Rihanna, and One Direction to Imagine Dragons. This year was full of surprises. For instance, Miley DIDN’T twerk onstage, and she actually had a really good performance, singing her hit song Wrecking Ball. Katy “turned” Japanese. Gaga was Marilyn Monroe. Rihanna had a moment with her mom. This year’s award winners deserved their honors. Lil Mama and Jennifer Lopez were back on stage, and they did an amazing job in their performances. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis had quite the year being, nominated for 6 awards and taking home 2. Ariana Grande, a new up and coming artist, also had an amazing year. Coming from acting to singing, she won the New Artist of the Year award. Ariana’s amazing album was released just a mere 3 months before the award show.  It hit the top of Billboard’s records for a new artist. One Direction released a new album recently, and it also hit the top of Billboard in just hours. They took home both of the awards they were nominated for.
