Girls Tech!

The Girls’ Tech Club was started last November for the purpose of promoting technology awareness among young women at FDR. The club was involved with the school-wide event, “Hour of Code,” with many club members volunteering. Currently, there are about 12 members in the club.  Last week, the members watched several tutorials on 3D printing using free software called 3D Slash. The plan is for each individual member to design a name tag for the club, and the coolest thing is that the name tag will be 3D- printed!  The club is also having a little competition about learning a computer language called Python on codeacademy.org.  After the competition, the members will work together to design a website for the club. Ain’t technology cool? Come join the Girls’ Tech Club on Tuesdays and be a future tech woman!
